Every room in Predicto runs on one of four scoring modes. It's chosen by the organizer when the room is created, and it applies for the entire duration of play — it can't be changed mid-way.

Before joining a room, always check its "Info" tab to see which mode applies — it determines your prediction strategy.

Picks before the tournament starts

Regardless of the scoring mode, before the tournament kicks off you also make two additional picks: the tournament winner and the top scorer. These picks stand until the end of the competition and are scored separately from individual match points.

Four modes to choose from

Predicto Standard — the simplest mode. You pick one betting variant: either the match winner or the exact score. Perfect if you're just getting started with predictions.

Result + Winner — you always predict the exact score, and the winner is calculated automatically. Simpler to use than Standard, since you don't have to choose a variant every time.

Quick Match — a single-match mode, predicted in stages: first the result and scorers of the first half, then the second half, and in case of a draw — extra time and penalties.

Advance Points — the most detailed mode. The match is split into five phases — halves, extra time, penalties, and scorers — each scored independently.

Which mode should you pick?

If you're setting up a room for friends across a whole season or tournament, Predicto Standard or Result + Winner is the safest choice — simple rules that are easy for everyone to follow. If you're organizing something around one big match, Quick Match adds extra excitement. And if you want maximum detail and points for partial hits, go for Advance Points.

In the following articles we cover each mode in detail, along with the full scoring breakdown.
