Advance Points is the most detailed mode available in Predicto. Instead of predicting one result for the whole match, you split your prediction into five independent phases.
Picks before the tournament starts
Regardless of the scoring mode, before the tournament kicks off you also make two additional picks: the tournament winner and the top scorer. These picks stand until the end of the competition and are scored separately from individual match points.
Phases 1 and 2: the halves
You predict the first-half and second-half results separately.
The screen for the second half looks identical, just for its own result.
- Exact half-time score: 4 pts
- Just the half winner (or draw), without the exact score: 2 pts
Phase 3: extra time
If the match ends in a draw after 90 minutes, you move into the extra time phase.
- Win without needing penalties: 3 pts
- Draw leading to penalties: 1 pt
Phase 4: penalties
If the draw holds through extra time, you predict the penalty shootout winner.
- Correct penalty shootout winner: 3 pts
Phase 5: scorers
You predict players who will score in the match (up to 3 picks per team).
- Correct player: 1 pt each
- All scorers correct: +1 pt bonus
Perfect prediction bonus
If you nail every phase of the match at once — halves, any extra time and penalties, and the scorers — you get an extra +3 pts bonus.
Maximum points
How many points you can maximally earn from one match depends on how it plays out:
- 15 pts — match without extra time
- 18 pts — match with extra time, no penalties
- 19 pts — match decided by penalties
Why play this mode?
The biggest strength of Advance Points is that its phases are independent — even if you don't nail the whole match, you still score points for every phase you got right. That makes this mode reward careful match analysis, not just a shot in the dark on the final score.
