Four years of waiting — one night of euphoria
26 July 2026 will go down as a landmark date in Wisla Krakow's history. The White Star returned to the PKO BP Ekstraklasa after a four-year absence and immediately gave their fans a win to celebrate. In front of a sold-out Synerise Arena — more than 33,000 supporters — Wisla beat GKS Katowice 2:1 in an emotional match.
Club veteran Alan Uryga played his 11th league season in Wisla colours — a symbol of loyalty and continuity. Maciej Kuziemka was the most active player on the pitch, firing off 6 shots throughout the game.
Bozic and Sanchez write the script
Wisla's first goals back in the Ekstraklasa came from Bozic via a penalty and Sanchez. GKS hit back through Bartlewicz but it was not enough to earn a point. Wisla held on and the final whistle triggered scenes of pure joy in the stands.
This was Wisla's fifth consecutive league win — the club is entering this new chapter with real momentum. After four years of hardship — relegation, rebuilding, and the long road back — promotion tastes doubly sweet. The fans believe the White Star are ready to fight for European football.
