Roma and Inter — two sides of the Scudetto race

The 2026/27 Serie A Enilive season began on 22 August and after four rounds two clear leaders have emerged. AS Roma and Inter Milan — the defending champions — are level on 12 points and are engaged in a fascinating duel at the summit. Roma have scored 14 goals in four matches, Inter's record stands at 8:3. Just behind them, Como on 10 points and Lazio on 10 represent a surprising duo in the top four. Cagliari complete the top five on nine points, defying all pre-season expectations.

Malen — the unlikely king of the scorers

The standout individual revelation of the opening four rounds is Donyell Malen of AS Roma. The Dutch winger, who spent last season at Borussia Dortmund, joined Roma in the summer and has immediately taken the league by storm — five goals in four matches. Malen is fast, clinical and works hard for the team — the perfect player for Roma's system.

Surprises and disappointments

Juventus have just seven points and sit eighth — a poor start for a club with title aspirations. AC Milan, after a managerial revolution (Allegri departed, Ruben Amorim arrived from Manchester United), have eight points and are finding their way. Napoli under new coach Allegri (who moved from Milan to Naples) start with six and still look unsettled. Atalanta, after a sensational previous campaign, also have six — a temporary dip following key departures.

Venezia — a promoted side in deep trouble

Venezia returned to Serie A after a year away and have started with four consecutive defeats — the worst record in the division. A beautiful city on the lagoon, dramatic results on the pitch. The coming weeks will be crucial for their survival hopes.
