Roma — a goal-scoring machine

AS Roma under their new manager have started the season like a steamroller. 14 goals in four matches is an absolutely remarkable statistic — no other Serie A side comes close. The biggest win was the 4:0 against Fiorentina at the Olimpico in Matchday 1 — Malen scored twice in that game. In Matchday 2, Roma won 4:0 away at Lecce, an equally impressive result on the road.

Donyell Malen — the revelation of the season

The Dutch winger arrived from Borussia Dortmund in the summer and immediately took control of Roma's attack. Five goals in four matches is a phenomenal start. Malen is exceptionally quick, can finish with both feet and reads the game like an experienced striker. Paulo Dybala supports him from deeper, Matias Soule completes the attacking trio that is terrorising opposition defences. He is well worth following throughout the season — if he maintains this form, he will be in the Golden Boot conversation.

Can Roma win the Scudetto?

Roma last won the title in the 2000/01 season — 25 years of waiting. The Giallorossi faithful are dreaming, but they know a season is long. Inter are just as strong in their title defence, and Juventus and Milan will find their form sooner or later. For now though, Roma are playing the most beautiful football in Serie A and giving their supporters every reason to believe.
