Barcola and Vitinha dismantling The Reds' defence (April 8)
The Parc des Princes hosted a clash of two attacking powerhouses, but PSG proved the more complete side. Liverpool had their moments — Mohamed Salah rattled the post, and a Darwin Nunez effort was brilliantly saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma. But it was the Parisians who controlled the tempo throughout.
In the 41st minute, Bradley Barcola — in the form of his life — cut past Trent Alexander-Arnold and fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner past Alisson. PSG pressed their advantage in the second half. In the 74th minute, Vitinha thundered a long-range effort that deflected off Konate's back and nestled in the net. The 2:0 scoreline is a solid advantage, but nobody in Paris has forgotten the ghosts of the past, and everyone knows how dangerous Liverpool can be on home soil.
The title holders' commanding position
PSG look like a team with no discernible weaknesses. Their balance between defence and attack is currently the finest in Europe. Liverpool will need to produce the performance of their season on April 14 to overturn the deficit.
